There were a num­ber of crowd­ed state leg­isla­tive races in this year’s Top Two elec­tion. With ini­tial results now in, we’re get­ting an idea of who will be elim­i­nat­ed and who will move on to the Novem­ber gen­er­al elec­tion. Here’s a roundup:

8th LD

In the 8th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, which includes most of rur­al Ben­ton Coun­ty, the greater Rich­land area and Ken­newick, for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #2 race, Repub­li­can can­di­date April Con­nors has a slim lead of five hun­dred and twen­ty-nine votes over Repub­li­can can­di­date Joe Cot­ta. Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date John Chris­ten­son is 679 votes behind the leader.

17th LD

In the 17th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, which includes all of Ska­ma­nia Coun­ty, Camas and exur­ban Clark Coun­ty north­east of Van­cou­ver, for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #1 race, Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date Ter­ri Niles leads with 45.6% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Kevin Waters in sec­ond place with 22.5%.

Repub­li­can can­di­dates Han­nah Joy and Antho­ny Ho trail with 17.9% and 14.2% of the vote, respec­tive­ly. For the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #2 race, Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date Joe Kear leads with 46.2% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date in sec­ond place with 30.9%. Repub­li­can can­di­dates Earl Bow­er­man and Justin Fors­man trail at 12.3% and 10.5% of the vote, respectively.

22nd LD

In the 22nd Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, which includes most of Olympia and Tumwa­ter, for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #1 race, Beth Doglio leads with 52% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Loret­ta Byrnes in sec­ond place with 19.3% of the vote. Repub­li­can can­di­dates Sans Gilmore and Maria Siguen­za, and Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­dates Sarah León and Antho­ny Keen, trailed at 11.4%, 10.1%, 4.6% and 2.5%, respec­tive­ly. (Doglio pre­vi­ous­ly rep­re­sent­ed the dis­trict in the House.)

For the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #2 race, Demo­c­ra­t­ic incum­bent Jes­si­ca Bate­man leads with 62% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Kate Plager in sec­ond place with 30.4%. Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date Kevin Young trails at 6.6% of the vote.

30th LD

In the 30th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, which encom­pass­es almost all of Fed­er­al Way, for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #1 race, incum­bent Jami­la Tay­lor leads with 55.3% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Casey Jones in sec­ond place with 30.6% of the vote. Repub­li­can can­di­dates Paul McDaniel and Paul McDaniel trail at 10.9% and 3% of the vote, respec­tive­ly. For the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #2 race, Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date and past rep­re­sen­ta­tive for the 30th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, Kris­tine Reeves, leads with 44.6% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Ash­li Tagoai in sec­ond place at 36%. Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date Carey Ander­son and Repub­li­can can­di­date C. Mark Greene trail at 14% and 5.4%, respectively.

35th LD

In the 35th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict (which includes Mason Coun­ty and a large por­tion of rur­al Thurston Coun­ty precincts) for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #2 race, Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­date Sandy Keis­er leads with 47.2% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Travis Coture in sec­ond place with 25.5%. Repub­li­can can­di­dates Pat­ti Case and Tiffany Sevruk trail at 17% and 10.3%, respectively.

39th LD

In the 39th Leg­isla­tive Dis­trict, which includes most of rur­al Sno­homish Coun­ty east of Inter­state 5, for the State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Posi­tion #1 race, Repub­li­can can­di­date Bob Suther­land leads with 31.3% of the vote, with Repub­li­can can­di­date Sam Low in sec­ond place with 26.4%. Demo­c­ra­t­ic can­di­dates Claus Joens and Karl de Jong trail at 24.4% and 17.8%, respectively.
