In the first of  just two contested Redmond City Council races, Tom Flynn has a significant lead over his opponent Joel Wright:

Tom Flynn  56.56%

Joel L. Wright 42.89%

For a first time candidate, Flynn ran a strong campaign, garnering the endorsement of four of the seven current city council members.

In the second race, incumbent council member David Carson is making an equally good showing:

David Carson 56.08%

Sue Stewart  43.30%

Sue Stewart is the only Redmond City Council candidate who applied for and received endorsements from Redmond’s local Democratic party, both the 45th and 48th Legislative District Democrats. Carson was endorsed by Republicans from Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna, to Republican King County Councilmembers Hague, Lambert and Dunn.

It looks like Redmond won’t win another progressive voice on the city council this year.
