Ukrainian forces are putting up the fiercest resistance they can muster against the Russian assault, but Putin’s forces are better equipped. Ukrainian officials have said their greatest need is equipment as opposed to personnel.

War underway: Russian forces have begun attacking Ukraine on Vladimir Putin’s orders
Ukranian officials reported that the capital, Kyiv, had been struck by Russian missiles. Unconfirmed reports suggested that Russian forces were moving against Kyiv’s airport and other strategic targets within Ukraine. Loud booms have been heard in Kyiv and Kharkiv by correspondents working for CNN and the BBC.
