Next-generation Wi-Fi routers, using 802.11ac technology, will be able to accommodate more devices and provide better coverage in a home or office space, Paresh Dave reports. However, most smartphones, tablets, and computers don’t have hardware that is capable of handling 802.11ac, which uses a different portion of spectrum than previous versions of Wi-Fi.
