Apple’s attempt to wrest control of iPhone mark in Mexico fails

A Mexican court has ruled that Apple cannot sell iPhone-branded products in Mexico because it would infringe on the trademark of a Mexican company that sells a similar product: the iFone. The iFone mark was registered in 2003, four years before Apple introduced the iPhone in the U.S. (The U.S. mark at the time was owned by Cisco).
