Themes from the opening statements

Ross Hunter: Talked mostly about education and his track record in the Legislature (he represents the 48th Legislative District).

Larry Phillips: Emphasized his support for light rail, efforts to prevent flu pandemics, and building ties to people throughout King County.

Fred Jarrett: Said he has four priorities, but was unable to talk about all of them in his opening statement. One of those priorities is making Metro work better.

Dow Constantine: Argued we need to make saving green spaces a priority, step up grassroots organizing efforts, and ensure Sound Transit has the tools and support it needs to accomplish its mission.
