As a lifelong resident of Oklahoma, I’m not holding my breath waiting for our state’s political leaders to reassess their stance on government assistance to those in need. Recognizing irony is not their strong suit. And so, we’ll continue to rank near the top in teen pregnancy, obesity, and chronic disease and near the bottom in funding for public education and residents with health insurance. But, hey, we’re saving money *and* we get to carry guns in public!
