WA-03: Endorsements roll in for Pridemore

Full Disclosure: I am a supporter and volunteer for Senator Craig Pridemore's campaign to succeed Brian Baird as U.S. Representative in the 3rd District. My opinions do not necessarily reflect those of Pridemore for Congress.

With the special legislative session finally concluded, Senator Craig Pridemore has now had an opportunity to get out in the district and knock on doors, the organizational endorsements are starting to roll in.

Having already secured endorsements from the Sierra Club and Ocean Champions for his stellar record of protecting our environment, now Craig Pridemore is picking up endorsements from the labor movement. It's no surprise that labor would support Craig, since the Washington State Labor Council (AFL-CIO) has noted that among the candidates running in Washington's 3rd Congressional District, Craig has the best voting record on issues that affect working families.

Among labor groups, first up endorsing Craig was the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 4 in Vancouver, followed by the Washington Federation of State Employees (which failed to endorse a single Democratic state senator for re-election). And just today, Craig Pridemore received the endorsement of the Association of Western Pulp & Paper Workers Washington Council, a union where his father was a longtime member.

Craig's 98% record of voting with working families dwarfs Denny Heck's 72%. It's not even an contest. If Craig Pridemore and Denny Heck got letter grades for their labor records, it's obvious that Pridemore would be at the top of the class.

If you're in the northern part of the district (Thurston and Lewis Counties), you have an opportunity to come out and support Craig Pridemore this Friday, May 7. Join Craig and his supporters at The Mark (407 Columbia Street SW in Olympia) from 5 PM to 7 PM for another installment of Pints for Pridemore.

Donations will be gratefully accepted. Come on out for a conversation about our district and the future of our country.
