Help NPI celebrate its eighth anniversary tomorrow at FallFest 2011!

Just a reminder that tomorrow evening, we’re holding a special event in downtown Seattle (think house party meets happy hour!) to celebrate our eighth anniversary and give you, our loyal readers and supporters, a chance to meet with the NPI team and learn more about what we’re working on.

This isn’t a formal evening like our Spring Fundraising Gala… even if you can only stop by for a few minutes, we’d love to see you. There won’t be a long speaking program, but there will be refreshments, a musical performance by local songwriter Gary Kanter, and Washington Progressive Blogroll t‑shirts for sale.

NPI’s president, Seattle Port Commissioner Gael Tarleton, and I will provide a brief post-Labor Day update on what’s happening and what we expect the political landscape to look like in 2012.

This event, FallFest 2011, will begin at 5 PM and run till around 7:30 PM. It’ll be at Newmark Tower (1415 2nd Avenue), a very short walk from Pike Place Market. You can RSVP in advance, though you’re also more than welcome to pay at the door.

Newmark Tower is very easy to get to if you work in Seattle, and if you don’t, it is easily reached by bus or train (it’s only a couple blocks from the Downtown Transit Tunnel’s Westlake and University Street stations).

We know that parking can be difficult in Seattle, especially near the Market (and especially during rush hour) so we recommend taking Metro or Sound Transit to get to FallFest. The 550 is an excellent choice if you’re coming from the Eastside, and Link light rail is an excellent choice if you’re coming from the south.

If you’re not a regular rider, Trip Planner can help you find your way.

We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you tomorrow on what promises to be a sunny, beautiful evening!
