Report: Use of public transit in U.S. reaches highest level since 1956
The American Public Transportation Association announced in its annual report that more Americans rode buses, trains, and subways in 2013 than in any year since 1956. Some 10.65 billion passenger trips were taken on mass transit throughout the year, beating the previous record of 10.59 billion in 2008. Ridership is up thirty-seven percent since 1995.
