Congress clamps down on tobacco
The U.S. House of Representatives earlier today concurred with the Senate in approving a bill that gives the federal government broad new regulatory powers to control the marketing, production, and sale of tobacco, perhaps the most widely inhaled toxic substance. President Barack Obama has said he’s eager to sign H.R. 1256 into law.
