Bernie Sanders projected to win Nevada Democratic caucuses as early results released

2020 Democratic frontrunner and United States Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders appears to be on his way to a third consecutive victory in the contest for delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.

Sanders is projected to be the victor in this year’s Nevada Democratic caucuses, which are wrapping up today at locations across the Silver State.

Sanders is also in first place in the initial caucus results.

Trailing Sanders are (in the following order) former Vice President Joe Biden, former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Warren, who is already on her way to Washington State for a rally at Seattle Center, had hoped to bolster candidacy with a stronger result in Nevada than she received in New Hampshire a week and a half ago.

However, it appears that she may once again finish in fourth place.

The early results don’t look good at all for Amy Klobuchar, who managed a strong showing in the New Hampshire primary after a stellar debate in Manchester.

In the final alignment, Sanders has almost a majority of the vote so far… 49.97%, while Biden is in a distant second place with 17.02%.

Again, it’s still early… fewer than a hundred precincts have reported results so far. So the numbers will change. But Sanders does appear to be in a commanding position, and the projection in his favor is based on solid data.

Sanders’ campaign certainly thinks that they have won.

The campaign has already declared victory in a blast to supporters.

“Bernie Sanders won Nevada! Thank you! Now we NEED to be ready for the coming attacks. It’ll only get harder from here,” the campaign declared, exhorting supporters to “donate $27” as soon as possible.
