Save the Date: NPI’s tenth Spring Fundraising Gala will be held on Saturday, April 7th, 2018!

As longtime supporters know, each year, in the middle of spring, we hold a major event to thank our supporters and raise money to support our work. It takes the combined strength of our board, staff, and contributors to organize, but it’s always been an extremely successful event and we’re confident it will continue to be.

Next year’s gala will be the tenth gala we’ve held as well as the tenth anniversary of the first gala (no gala was held in 2009). Although the spring of 2018 is a ways off, we’re getting an early start with the planning for this event, and we wanted to let you know that we have a venue and a date selected.

Here are the details for your calendar:

NPI’s 2018 Spring Fundraising Gala
Saturday, April 7th, 2018
Reception: 5:30 PM | Program: 7 PM
The Renton Community Center
1715 SE Maple Valley Highway
Renton, WA 98057–3900

We’re excited to announce the gala is moving to a new venue for 2018: the Renton Community Center. Conveniently located right off of Interstate 405 (Exit #4), the Renton Community Center offers a spacious, publicly owned banqueting room with doors that open to a patio overlooking the Cedar River.

We’ve lengthened the reception to provide attendees more networking time and opportunities to mingle, while keeping the start time for the speaking program the same. Next year’s program will again be anchored by the Lynn Allen Awards, recognizing indispensable contributions to progressive causes, but it’ll be more streamlined, building on our experience this year (the first year of the Awards).

And, should you wish to visit with the NPI team following the event’s conclusion and celebrate the work that went into the event with us, you’ll be able to do so, since room takedown will be taking place later in the evening than in the past.

Tickets for the gala will go on sale in early 2018 and speakers will be announced beginning a few weeks after that, along with further details.

For now, we invite you to mark your calendars and plan to join us for our tenth gala. We have many exciting surprises we’re working on and look forward to sharing a wonderful evening with you next spring.

Remember that you’re also invited to join us for our Fourteenth Anniversary Picnic this Sunday. A summer tradition in its fourth year, this is a “pay what you can” event (suggested minimum donation of $25, no admission charged) at Perrigo Park.

You can RSVP here and let us know whether you’d like a hamburger, hot dog, salmonburger, or gardenburger. We’ve got you covered!
