President Barack Obama will make two stops in the Pacific Northwest tomorrow before heading to California for the weekend, the White House has confirmed.

The President will depart Joint Base Andrews around 9:15 AM Eastern for a cross-country flight to Eugene, Oregon. Obama is scheduled to land in Track Town USA around 11:40 AM Pacific. At the Eugene Airport, he will likely transfer to a Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King or VH-60N WhiteHawk operated by the Marine Corps and fly into Roseburg by helicopter. The President’s meeting with victims of the Umpqua Community College Shooting will happen at around 12:40 PM.

By 2:45 PM, Obama will be back in Eugene for a forty minute flight to Seattle. He’s scheduled to touch down at Boeing Field around 3:45 PM.

After landing, the President will travel by motorcade to the Westin in Seattle for fundraising events. He has a DNC roundtable first at 4:20 PM, then will speak at a dinner for Patty Murray around 6 PM. (Originally, it was going to be a luncheon, but it was rescheduled to accommodate the President’s plans to visit Roseburg.)

By 7 PM, Obama will be back at Boeing Field and departing for San Francisco. He’ll do another DNC roundtable there in the evening before retiring for the night. The President will spend the rest of the weekend in California before returning to D.C.

The Secret Service and State Patrol will likely shut down I‑5 so the President’s motorcade can get in and out of downtown Seattle. These closures will happen during the Friday evening rush, and will cause traffic all over the region to back up. The Department of Transportation urges all commuters to plan accordingly.

Sound Transit advises:

There will be several street closures tomorrow, Friday, October 9th from 10 AM — 7 PM for President Obama’s visit.

All transit riders should expect significant delays on all ST Express routes that travel through downtown Seattle. Please monitor media reports, WSDOT and SDOT for the latest traffic conditions. Consider other routes or alternate work schedules, and allow a lot of extra travel time. Due to the street closures the following routes will be rerouted. Please visit the Alerts page for details on missed stops.

Lastly, if you’re interested, The Eugene Register-Guard has a lengthy story previewing the President’s visit to Roseburg, which gives voice to a number of ardent conservatives who are unhappy that the President is coming to town.
