Scientists: Antarctic ice sheet is melting and it can’t be stopped
One of the worst fears of scientists who have been studying the climate crisis has now been realized: Two groups of researchers have announced that Antarctica’s western ice sheet is collapsing, setting off an unstoppable chain reaction that could mean an addition ten foot rise in sea level around the globe. The finding fulfills a prediction made a pioneer of climate science in 1978, John H. Mercer.
