Russell Athletic caves in the face of student opposition to anti-worker business practices
The nationwide student movement to stop sweatshops achieved an unprecedented victory today when Fruit of the Loom-owned Russell Athletic agreed to rehire some twelve hundred Honduran workers it had disgracefully fired after the workers formed a union to fight for better wages and benefits. Russell also agreed not to interfere in the future with unionization attempts.
