For now, P-I subscribers prop up Seattle Times
The New York Times has a story about the impact of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s shuttering on the Seattle Times’ readership. The Times Company, which handled circulation for the Post-Intelligencer, automatically converted P-I subscriptions into Times subscriptions. So far, it looks like people have opted to keep getting the newspaper, although the Times Company hasn’t been shy about offering good subscription deals. The New York Times also reviews the first few months of SeattlePI.com as a smaller news operation.
