EFF, ACLU to appeal dismissal of spying cases
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have announced they will ask the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to rule last year’s amendment to the FISA law unconstitutional. The amendment, controversially intended to give telecom companies immunity from wiretapping lawsuits, was passed by Congress last summer over the objections of a huge grassroots coalition of concerned Americans.
