Yesterday on The Advocate, NPI covered the release of Ubuntu 9.04, code named “Jaunty Jackalope”. (Ubuntu is the world’s most popular desktop Linux distribution, sponsored by the United Kingdom company Canonical Ltd.)
It turns out we’re not the only ones we are favorably impressed. CNET’s Renai LeMay says Jaunty is “as slick as Windows 7, Mac OS X”. Ars Technica calls it a “major improvement.” And Lifehacker says boot-up speed is “vastly” better.
EpicConstructions has some screenshots of the new Ubuntu, if you’re interested in checking out how the more important changes look visually.
