As if the high cost of air travel and the indignity of their poor on-time rate isn’t enough, today Alaska Airlines and Horizon Airlines announced that they’ll nickel and dime customers by charging $15 for the passenger’s first bag.
Airlines have already cut out meal service, and in most cases you’ll probably only have peanuts and a drink thrown at you. What’s next, a surcharge to use the lavatory? How about a recycled oxygen fee in order to breathe on a flight? Why not charge me for a pillow or blanket?
All I can say is bring on the bullet trains. It’s time to re-think the way we travel.
