State Supreme Court Justice retires
Justice Bobbe Bridge is leaving the state's highest court at the end of the year:
Bridge, 62, has served on the court since 1999. She is retiring to become the founding president of the Center for Children & Youth Justice, a new non-profit group funded by the MacArthur Foundation. It'll be interesting to see who Gregoire chooses as a successor.
Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire has the sole authority to pick a replacement for Bridge. But that person will have to go before voters in the 2008 election.
