In Brief - April 4th, 2007
Here is today's quick news digest, slow roasted to perfection and served with mango salsa on a bed of crisp, green lettuce:
- In a laughable column, Columbian editor emeritus Tom Koenninger defends Peter Pace's anti-gay comments, saying Pace's First Amendment rights are being violated, but ignores the threat to arrest silent protesters when Pace spoke in Vancouver last month. Pathetic.
- Just in time for Passover, John McCain appoints Richard Nixon's "Jew Counter" as campaign finance co-chair. Pass the brisket!
- A couple of state lawmakers are being more circumspect in their comments about the apparent death of the Homeowners' Bill of Rights.
- Goldy asks if the FDA is the new FEMA.
- Strange Bedfellows reports that a local activist is having trouble getting a passport. The government wants an absurd amount of documentation from Missouri-born citizen Thomas Hays, including high school yearbook pages. Step out of line...
