Washington State Senate Democrats announce leadership changes, committee assignments for 2023 legislative session

Fresh of an out­stand­ing midterm elec­tion cycle in which every front­line Demo­c­ra­t­ic sen­a­tor’s reelec­tion was secured, the Wash­ing­ton State Sen­ate Democ­rats on Decem­ber 1st announced a set of lead­er­ship changes for the 2023 ses­sion along with the cau­cus’ com­plete com­mit­tee assignments.

President Biden signs CHIPS and Science bill crafted by Washington’s own Maria Cantwell

Sen­a­tor Cantwell does the grunt work of gov­ern­ing. She has repeat­ed­ly pulled progress out of a balky, divid­ed body. She was able to get a Repub­li­can-con­trolled Sen­ate to per­ma­nent­ly autho­rize and fund the Land and Water Con­ser­va­tion Fund. Team­ing with Sen­a­tor Lisa Murkows­ki, R‑Alaska. On Tues­day, August 9th, she was right next to Pres­i­dent Joe Biden as he signed into law a key bill she steered across the fin­ish line to keep Amer­i­ca tech­no­log­i­cal­ly competitive.

A win for America! U.S. Senate passes climate and health focused Inflation Reduction Act
