Networks call Left Coast for Clinton: She easily wins Washington, Oregon, California
Hillary Clinton has swept to victory in Washington, Oregon, and California, as well as Hawaii, news networks are projecting. That gives her an estimated 209 electoral votes. She would need several dozen electoral votes more to win, however.
None of these outcomes are a surprise. The Left Coast has been solidly Democratic for many, many cycles now. Ronald Reagan was the last Republican candidate to have carried a Left Coast state. Since then, the region has been a dependable bloc of states for Democrats — winners and losers alike.
