White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer to speak at Netroots Nation

The lineup of speakers for the sixth annual Netroots Nation is finally starting to fill out, with just a week and three days to go before the convention begins.

Organizers announced this morning that White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer will be participating in a question and answer session with attendees. Pfeiffer will likely be fielding questions about everything from the U.S. military’s treatment of Bradley Manning to the lack of action on addressing the climate crisis.

Also slated to speak is new Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and President Obama’s national campaign field director, Jeremy Bird. They will be joining Russ Feingold, Senators Al Franken, Amy Klobuchar, Ben Cardin, and Representatives Tim Walz and Keith Ellison.

There will be some familiar faces too, including Donna Edwards, Howard Dean, Jerry Nadler, and Van Jones, who have become mainstays and crowd favorites at Netroots Nation. State Senator Chris Larson, one of the Wisconsin fourteen, is also confirmed to speak. It will certainly be an honor to hear from him.

Three of us will be going to Minneapolis on NPI’s behalf next week. We’re very excited, and we’ve spent quite a bit of time getting ready for the trip.

We’ll be providing live coverage throughout the day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week (the 16th, 17th, and 18th), so be sure to check in often to find out what’s happening in the Twin Cities.
