Here we go! Polling places have begun closing across the East Coast, and we can soon expect results to begin trickling in. Watch for the southeastern states of Florida and North Carolina, which both have reputations for counting ballots quickly.
Be wary of people making predictions this early in the game; we won’t have enough data to call the race for hours yet. Also, many of the measures that usually help us understand Election Day (such as exit polling) could be significantly thrown off by the record-breaking rate of mail-in ballots and early votes.
