Oregon’s Governor Kitzhaber helps save woman’s life
An unconscious woman who had apparently overdosed on drugs was rescued yesterday evening by Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, who was on his way to a dinner in a downtown Portland. When Kitzhaber saw the woman, he instructed his driver to pull over. He personally performed CPR on the woman, who was not breathing, after telling his staff to call 911. Paramedics showed up within minutes and transported the woman to a hospital. She is expected to survive. Kitzhaber is a former emergency room doctor.
