Future Windows 8 update will fully restore Start Menu, Microsoft says
Microsoft has finally admitted that it doesn’t make sense to force a touch-optimized interface on desktop users. In a future update to Windows 8, the company says the Start Menu will make a glorious return, and it will also be possible to run those full screen “Metro” applications inside of a window on the desktop. That should go a long way towards addressing the biggest complaints about Windows 8.
