Chevron launches its own news site for Richmond, California
One of the world’s largest multinational oil conglomerates, Chevron-Texaco, has launched its own online news site in Richmond, California, where one of its largest refineries is located. Fittingly, the name of the publication is the Richmond Standard (Chevon, like other modern oil companies, is descended from Standard Oil). It includes an editorial section titled “Chevron Speaks”. Says a spokeswoman for Chevron: “There of course have been some questions – which we understand – about the motivations for this.” That’s for sure!
