Predictions for Iowa

Results from Iowa should begin rolling in around 4:30 or 5:00 PM, but might not be until later. In the meantime, let's have some fun with meaningless predictions! (If only that fabled crystal ball of stilwell's was working, I could tell you what's going to happen, but alas, it's still out of order.)

Anyway, here goes:

The surprise on the Democratic side will be Hillary Clinton coming in third. I predict that Barack Obama wins with around 35%, John Edwards follows with around 30% and Clinton falls to third with around 20%.

On the Republican side, Ron Paul will outperform the expectations of many pundits. The caucuses are the perfect opportunity for his supporters to flex their muscles. While they are small in number, they are highly motivated...and only 5-10% of Iowa voters participate in the caucuses. A small but highly motivated group can therefore have a major effect.

As for the top GOP finishers...Mike Huckabee will win with around 30%, Mitt Romney will be a close second with around 25%, and Paul will be third with 20%.

John McCain will follow as a distant fourth.

Those are my guesses, and they're as good as anybody else's, because who knows how this will turn out? Certainly not David Broder and the Beltway pundit league.

If you've got predictions to share, feel free to post a comment.

I predict if Ron Paul's message falls on deaf ears and he does not get the nod from the GOP, you will see tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands march in protest of our government this summer...

That sound you hear is the world cheering for Americans over the stampeding of feet and noise as the establishment tries to determine how to slow the spread of truth.

If you were in your 20's, and know what Dr. Paul's supporters know about the economic situation facing them, who would you choose?

Do the media corporations really think the reality of the situation is going to disappear. The people who understand what is happening are the most well-read and articulate people in the voting populace.

It will only take time before everyone finally accepts what Dr. Paul's supporters already understand.

I believe it takes about a minimum of 6 months before an individual fully grasps the real game being played financially once exposed to the idea. I believe that the idea of discussing the financial situation is the only real topic that will motivate voters in the end. Fear of loosing ones house or not having a retirement trumps fear of whatever overseas, ultimately. And people will soon realize that they have much more to fear from the financial situation than they ever did from any group that someone claims hates us for whatever.

TV is dead. The internet has risen.

Time is our friend, and, Friend, now is the time.
